Exxon Mobil Corporation, a New Jersey corporation was incorporated in 1882. The Company's main business is energy, involving exploration for, and production of, crude oil and natural gas, manufacture of petroleum products and transportation and sale of crude oil, natural gas and petroleum products. The refining and supply operations encompass a global network of manufacturing plants, transportation systems, and distribution centers that provide a range of fuels, lubricants and other products and feedstocks to the Company's customers around the world. The Chemical segment is organized and operates to manufacture and sell petrochemicals. It supplies olefins, polyolefins, aromatics, and a variety of other petrochemicals. The divisions and affiliated companies of the Company operate or market products in the United States and most other countries of the world. The Company has several divisions and hundreds of affiliates, many with names that include ExxonMobil, Exxon, Esso, Mobil or XTO. It competes with other firms in the sale or purchase of needed goods and services in many national and international markets and employs all methods of competition which are lawful and appropriate for such purposes. The Company's operations are subject to laws and regulations related to environmental or energy security matters, including those addressing alternative energy sources and the risks of global climate change.
